As a young girl I was a very shy around everyone but my close family members. My mom decided to enroll me into a dance class to help me come out of my shell. She enrolled me in a ballet class at the young age of 4. I ended up continuing to dance and tried as many different classes as I could; ballet, tap, jazz, and hip-hop. I ended up loving jazz and hip-hop and that became my focus throughout my upper elementary and into my high school years. My mom’s decision to put me in dance helped me find my love of dance. My college years approached and I stopped dancing. Three years after stopping dance, I decided to get back into it. I just didn’t know how. I thought dance classes were only for girls under the age of 18. I found a modern dance class offered by my college, but once college was over I thought my dance career was over. Fast-forward to nine years later, I stumbled upon The Dancer’s Workout on an Internet search! I never would have thought I would have found my love of dance again, but I did!
What TDW Means to Me:
I am so happy to have found a community of dancers that I feel comfortable with. I have enjoyed watching the other dancers, learning from others, and remembering how good it feels to move my body to the music!
